Parliamentary Secretary
Spokesperson on local affairs

I have been politically active for the Green Party since 1989. I came to the party via work with citizens' initiatives. I am a qualified social worker and from 1985 worked in a collective, non-profit organisation concerned with employment and psychiatric health. We were involved in the urban redevelopment movement and community work. I have been a member of the party since 1994, and after ten years of voluntary political work in local affairs – initially as an independent citizens' initiative representative, then as executive committee chairwoman – I have been chairwoman of the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Alliance 90/The Greens since June 2000. I believe our party is the one that is most concerned with future issues, and we will not lessen our commitment to more equity, self-determination, ecology and democracy.
