I came to the Greens from the youth environmental movement. These days, just like back then, I campaign above all for climate protection, climate justice and for a turnaround in energy policy. These topics were also the main focus of my studies of energy and environmental management at university in Flensburg. That is also where I later worked as an academic assistant, lecturing on environmental and energy policy and taking part in various research projects (such as climate policy in India and a sustainable energy concept for Schleswig-Holstein). My doctorate in Flensburg and Cambridge deals with the costs of climate change. I have also worked with the model underlying the Stern Report. In the Parliamentary Group I want to work on the turnaround in energy policy, including promoting energy efficiency and the development of large-scale smart electricity grids. Working together with you, I would like to enhance our alternative energy concepts and support and strengthen the resistance to the nuclear power-friendly approach shown by the CDU/CSU/FDP government. I look forward to working together constructively with the Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag, with the party and with NGOs.
