I first came to the Greens as class spokesperson back at school, when I protested against the massive cuts introduced by Oskar Lafontaine in the education budget. Over the past years I have been involved in Green politics on several levels. I was a member of the District Council in my home town of Bous for nearly nine years. I was State Party Director of the Greens in Saarland for several years and for the past five years I was Managing Director of the State Parliamentary Group. In 2007 I was a co-founder and organiser of the citizens' initiative against the large power station planned in Ensdorf, a project we ultimately succeeded in preventing. In the Bundestag I want to get involved in particular in regional development, transport, energy and tourism policy.
